BELIEF IN ALLAH
Overview
“Our Lord, indeed we have heard a caller calling to faith, [saying], ‘Believe in your Lord,’ and we have believed. Our Lord, so forgive us our sins and remove from us our misdeeds and cause us to die with the righteous.” – (Surah Ali ‘Imran, Ayat 193)
One of the core tenets of the Islamic faith, is none other than the belief in God. God, as we know through His revelation. This faith forms the foundation of building blocks that enable us to find our ultimate purpose in life, instilling in our hearts meaning and a strong sense of direction.
As one of the primary sciences of the religion, the knowledge of beliefs and convictions serve as the origin of all deliberations in religion. Our actions are governed by our beliefs. Our personality is governed by our beliefs. Faith drives us forward, even if we don’t perceive it.
The sciences of faith are nuanced in a way that it leads the physical, human self towards a stronger understanding of the metaphysical realm that we are unable to sense. Bridging between the apparent disconnect, Allah has revealed to us what we need to know about Him and the realities of His creation.
The branches of faith lead us to a comprehensive understanding of the world around us, forming a worldview that facilitates our journey in life, as a servant of God, and a servant of humanity. Ultimately, our faith leads us to become better people, for a better world.
Let’s take one step further, as we realize faith within our hearts and materialize faith within our lives.
