Say: “We believe in Allah and what has been revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and his descendants, and what was given to Moses, Jesus, and other prophets from their Master. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we fully submit.”

– (Surah Ali ‘Imran, Ayat 84)

The second core tenet of the Islamic faith, is to believe in the Prophets sent to humanity, by God. One may wonder, why do we need Prophets to teach us the religion, when God can simply send down His religion to any one of us? Why do we need to be taught by a fellow human being? What is the true purpose of Prophethood? How do we even know who are the true Prophets sent to us?

This module, in School of Aqidah, we learn the concept of Prophethood and its role in cementing our belief in the religion. God has sent Prophets over the course of human history, to different communities and tribes, as a means of education and purification for the human intellect and soul. The Quran also educates us on the key values of the religion through stories of the Prophets from the past. Without a doubt, the legacy of the Prophets have shaped humanity in its thought and emotions, seeking to develop a conscious community that ascends towards ultimate success.
