FIQH ‘IBADAH:
PURIFICATION & PRAYERS
Overview
“Oh believers, when you rise up for prayer, wash your faces and your hands up to the elbows, wipe your heads, and wash your feet to the ankles. And if you are in a state of impurity, then take a full bath. But if you are ill, on a journey, or have relieved yourselves, or have been intimate with your wives and cannot find water, then purify yourselves with clean earth by wiping your faces and hands. It is not Allah’s will to burden you, but to purify you and complete His favour upon you, so perhaps you will be grateful.” – (Surah Al-Ma-idah, Ayat 6)
The religion calls for the believers to be aware of one’s actions and state of mind. The act of purifying oneself, physically and spiritually, ensures that we are always mindful of ourselves and of our effect towards the environment that we live in. Prayers reconnect our lost hearts with its Creator, soothing our emotional grievances by communicating to the Only One who can ease hearts.
In the first module in School of Fiqh, we will be discussing some of the most fundamental acts of worship that we perform on a daily basis.
Prayers are pillars of our day. Prescribed at their fixed timings, prayers naturally turn out to be an indispensable part of our daily schedule. Being one of the most crucial deeds that we will be accountable for, it is imperative that we take care of our prayers, perform it to the best of our abilities, and guard it for our entire lives.
Join us for the first module in School of Fiqh, learning purification and prayers, seeking the pleasure of God, as much as we can, to the best of our abilities.
