FIQH MUNAKAHAT:
MARRIAGE AND FAMILY BUILDING

Overview

'Abdullah ibn 'Umar narrated that The Prophet ﷺ said: “All of you are guardians, and all of you are responsible for those under your guardianship. The ruler is a guardian. The man is a guardian of his family. The lady is a guardian for her husband's house and his offspring. So, all of you are guardians, and all of you are responsible for those under your guardianship.” (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Kitab An-Nikah)

Note: Due to the situation surrounding COVID-19, tutorials will be conducted via Google Meet (online).

Marriage is an institution that provides mankind with a sense of purpose and identity, empowering individuals with the honour of a noble responsibility that drives humanity towards peace and progress. Companionship is a necessary element of human life, prompting us with motivation and enthusiasm to thrive in our lives, within a system of support that is founded upon clear objectives. The religion defines and refines the goals of marriage, hoping to gift all individuals with the opportunity to be a leader for their families, while forming the building blocks of a successful society, and eventually, a successful civilization.

The critical nature of family management should be apparent to all, as we might have experienced and observed well-administered families forming a cradle for successful individuals to grow and make a difference in this world. Parenting and its impact on an individual should never be understated, as the relationship between parent and child is usually the very first anthropological bond for most human beings, shaping their native worldview for the rest of their lives.

A Muslim marriage seeks to empower all individuals with God’s comprehensive tranquility, encompassing the physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual aspects of mankind. Join us to explore the philosophy, ethics and rulings of a successful Muslim marriage.
