Abu Hurayrah narrated that Allah’s Messenger ﷺ said: “Use this black seed. For indeed, it contains a cure for every disease except death.
– (Jami’ At-Tirmidhi, Kitab At-Tibb)

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was sent to mankind as mercy, allowing us to rethink our perception of religion, while also reforming our worldview and our lifestyles in order to bring the best out of us and our environment. Every aspect of Prophetic guidance liberates us from misconstrued ideas that have posed a threat to the holistic development of the human civilization. While the general idea of religion may seem to be limiting itself to our relationship with God, Islam served refreshing perspectives that encapsulate all facets of human life on this planet.

The field of medicine and healthcare has seen strides of innovation and advancement over the past century that has continued to amaze us. Technology within the medical field has come a long way to where it is now, and with its noble intentions and implementation, we have been able to achieve great goodness as a result.

The Sunnah of The Prophet ﷺ contains recommendations of diet and medicine, prompting us to think about the nature of healthcare and how it is imperative in one’s worldly life, as we seek to make the best out of our time on Earth, to seek the pleasure of God. We know that a responsible servant of God would be conscious of upholding the best standards of health, to ensure that our physical self is always in its best state to serve God and humanity. But, what exactly is the best method to implement good healthcare into our lifestyles?

The Prophet Muhammad’s ﷺ life would be an exemplary blueprint for us to emulate, in all aspects of human development. How do we understand and apply Prophetic healthcare recommendations in light of the current global circumstances, and how do we reconcile modern standards of healthcare instructions from medical professionals? Is there even a divide between the two methods, or do they complement each other to provide ease and facilitation for our healthcare needs?

This MasterClass, let’s decipher Prophetic ﷺ prescriptions on healthcare and align the various perspectives of its integration into our search for cure and well-being.
