Overview
Abu Al-Darda narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said,
“It used to be from the supplication of Daud that he would say,
‘Oh Allah, indeed, I ask You for Your love
and the love of those who love You,
and for the action that will cause me to attain Your love,
Oh Allah, make Your love more beloved to me than myself, my family and cold water’.”

Synopsis
Everyone has the right to love, yet not all those aspire to love will be requited. Hence, one of the most beautiful experiences of life is reciprocated love. As Muslims, were are obliged to love Allah. We are also obliged to know what actions will ensue the love of Allah for us. This beautiful comprehensive do’a epitomises the essence of loving Allah. Loving Allah entails a level of action and sacrifice for Him.
This session’s objective is to highlight the actions that will cause the attainment of Allah’s unparalleled love. And in the process, increase our love for our Creator.
Narrated Abu Huraira, Allah’s Messenger ﷺ said,
“If Allah loves a person, He calls Gabriel, saying,
‘Allah loves so and so, Oh Gabriel love him’
So Gabriel would love him and then would make an announcement in the Heavens, ‘Allah has loved so and-so therefore you should love him also.’
So all the dwellers of the Heavens would love him, and then he is granted the pleasure of the people on the earth’.” – [Al-Bukhari]
